With Jesus-centered, creative teaching, we seek to introduce our youngest church members to the love and presence of God.

With Jesus-centered, creative teaching,
we seek to introduce our youngest church members to the love and presence of God.

1. IDENTITY
Our goal is for each child to know who God is, how much they are loved by Him and their identity in Jesus.
2. TRAINING
We desire for each child to be trained to reach their full potential in Christ. We emphasize a love for worship and the importance of daily Bible reading, prayer and journaling time. NexGen uses “The Gospel Project” by Lifeway as our curriculum for teaching.
3. PARTNERSHIP
We partner with parents as they disciple and lead their children. We offer support, ideas, prayer, and community along the way.
4. COMMUNITY
We work to build supportive relationships with the children and families in NexGen by providing opportunities to get to know each other and have fun together.
5. SERVICE
Impact the next generation through serving our children! NexGen provides training and background checks for all of our adult leaders so we can offer a safe, loving and structured environment.
NEX GEN CLASSES
Classes are for children 6 weeks–23 months, 2 year olds, Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st–5th Grade

Leadership

Steve Hassoldt: Children’s Director

Steve Hassoldt is the Associate Pastor over the children’s ministry, NexGen. Married to Shonni Hassoldt, they have been blessed with 13 children, 10 of which have been adopted from all around the world. Steve and Shonni live on a little five-acre ranch in Black Forest where they raise sheep, alpacas, chickens and turkeys. This place is also where they love to minister to people by introducing them to a country life!

Steve grew up in the church serving in a variety of roles, including junior and senior high youth pastor. He has a degree in religion from Azusa Pacific University, where he also served in several ministry roles. While Steve’s primary career has been in the insurance industry, he has lead men’s groups, recovery groups, been a church elder and served on ministry boards.

A Colorado native, Steve loves the outdoors, camping, hiking, hunting and exploring. He also enjoys tinkering around his ranch, building, fixing and raising a variety of critters. But, mostly, he loves serving the Lord, living life with his beautiful wife and raising his children to be men and women of God.
