January 28 – April 22, 2026
Instructor: Persia Stanley
Cost: $144 (sibling discount 10%, type in SIBLING10)

In this hands-on creative writing class, students will work together to craft an original play that will be performed as part of The Road’s 2026 VBS. Through guided exercises, group brainstorming, character creation, and script development, young writers will learn how to shape compelling stories for the stage. From plot structure to dialogue to collaborative revision, students will experience the full process of bringing a script from idea to performance. Perfect for imaginative teens who love storytelling, theatre, or seeing their ideas come alive!

We will be conducting our collaborative writing and editing on Google Docs, so a laptop or tablet is recommended for this class. However, a pen and paper will also work if you don’t have access to one, and you can then transcribe at home.

About the Instructors

Asia Wall, Director of KAIA

Asia Wall’s life has been profoundly shaped by her love for theatre. It all began at just eight years old, when she was mesmerized by a production of The Miracle Worker at Casa Manana Theatre in Fort Worth. From that moment on, she was hooked. She immediately began putting together plays, directing her siblings and cousins in a charming nativity play that Christmas.

Asia’s passion for theatre only grew from there. She studied acting throughout junior high and high school and even traveled overseas to Romania for drama evangelism before her senior year. During college, she pursued film, with a focus on writing and directing. But life had other plans, and she found herself leading worship and recording albums with her husband Daniel in Denton, while also doing graphic design for various ministries, including a children’s home in India.

Despite all these twists and turns, theatre never left Asia’s heart. After moving back to Fort Worth in 2017 and joining the creative community of AXL at Mercy Culture Church, she found her way back into the performing arts. She began teaching voice lessons at the Cottage Theatre in Watauga and eventually became the director, leading multiple theatre classes each week and directing plays such as Anne of Green Gables and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, as well as original productions.

Asia and Daniel had long felt called to move to Colorado Springs, and in 2021, they finally made the move. Asia quickly got involved with The Road and helped direct the VBS and Christmas productions before being named the Creative Arts Director. She is deeply passionate about what God is doing in the arts in Colorado Springs and believes that Kingdom Arts in Action is God’s vision. She is honored and humbled to play a role in stewarding that vision, empowering others to glorify God through their creative expressions.

Persia Stanley

Persia Stanley is a creative soul with a heart for Jesus and a deep love of wonder. As the second of six siblings in a lively, homeschooled household, she’s been immersed in storytelling, imagination, and the beautiful chaos of family life for as long as she can remember.

At seventeen, Persia may be young, but she’s passionate about helping the next generation rediscover the joy of creativity and the unique talents God has given them. Her own writing journey began with a homemade superhero comic called Power Puppy, and she hasn’t stopped filling notebooks since.

Persia brings hands-on experience working with children through church childcare, American Heritage Girls, babysitting, and, of course, being a big sister. She believes childhood is sacred—a season of curiosity, growth, and play—and hopes to foster that in every child she teaches. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, she smiles and says, “A kid.”

Beyond writing, Persia is an avid lover of puppetry, aviation, and the arts. She’s also an animal enthusiast, happily sharing her life with chickens, alpacas, cats, dogs, and one particularly opinionated rabbit. Rainy days, foggy forests, and sunny scooter rides are a few of her favorite things.
